Coloring Pre-Drawn Stuff ... "Inspire Psalms"

I have taken some time off of drawing lately and have just been coloring in a few books that have been given to me as gifts and others that I bought myself.  Coloring is hard for me, I have so much trouble choosing color combinations that I am happy with.  Yes, I know I can find "Color Combos" on Pinterest but then where do I use what color ? ? ?  It all makes my head hurt.  So I have decided to practice for a while.

This morning I 'googled' the "Inspire Psalms" to see how other people have colored pages from the book and discovered, there are no examples, so here ya go...some that I have finished.  Maybe if I start posting the finished ones I will finish more.

Just a note: When I first got the book I made the decision to be consistent throughout the book and make any reference of the Lord yellow/orange so I did that first, I went through the whole book coloring those first...so now I am stuck with that decision and yellow is a required element of my color combinations ...  hummmm :-/

James 3:4-18

I debated with myself about even showing this page because of the Hillary reference, but you know what, it was the most perfect example of

James 3:14-15 English Standard Version (ESV)

14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. 15 This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.
Sure, there are PLENTY other people that would qualify, but the fact that she still whines that the election was stolen from her...2.5 years later speaks volumes and fits the verses perfectly.

My old drawings of this verse don't come close to a picture that would bring immediate understanding to the picture.

James 1: 13-26 Be Doers of the Word!

I knew I was in trouble when I had only sketched out 5 of the 16 verses that needed to go on the page.  Whoops!  (I still had everything below the yellow mark to draw!)

But, since the last time I faced James my thinking had changed.  In 2013 I was thinking of "good and perfect gifts from above" as THINGS... this time I was thinking of the talents the Lord give, and the other spiritual gifts that aren't "things" at all.  Sure, He gives us those too, but the other "non-things" are far more valuable and needed to be shown as such.  As you can see from the above picture I had drawn out the talent type gifts, but then I woke up a couple of days later thinking I needed to show them coming down from "the Father of Heavenly lights"  I wanted it to be a whole dark galaxy thing with God's hand and gifts but there just wasn't enough room to show that...so I improvised ...

This is why I love doing this...every time I try it, I meditate on each individual scripture and the Lord shows me something different...It would be easy to just draw what I did last time, but sometimes there is a better solution.
