Do Not Conform

DO NOT CONFORM to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
(Romans 12:2)

Gotta say, I am getting reeeeally sick of the trash that the world is piling on us and expecting us to "tolerate"!  Have you seen the latest  Tylenol Campaign?  What the heck?!  Here is a letter I got from the AFA, if anyone wants to respond and send a letter to Johnson and Johnson.  It is so easy, just click on the "TAKE ACTION NOW" link at the end of the letter and there will be a letter available, all you need to do is add a subject and sign it...then send.

Yes, we are called to love ... the person, but NOT THE SIN!  I so wish that we Christians would ban together like some groups do so well.

Tylenol's homosexual campaign
Wednesday, June 24, 2015

Dear Nancy,
Gay and lesbian couples are featured prominently in Tylenol's new #HowWeFamily campaign, which aims to change the face of the American family.
A same sex prom couple and two gay dads with a baby are among those featured in the campaign's first TV ad. A voiceover declares, "Family isn't defined by who you love, but how."
Tylenol depicts a variety of modern family types by stating a family is based on love, not traditional marriage, and then showing gay couples with their children.
Plus, Tylenol recently used a lesbian couple shown nose to nose in a printed magazine ad. It was included in Good Housekeeping June 2015 issue on page 21, to name one example. At the bottom of the ad it states that Tylenol is a national corporate partner with the Human Rights Campaign.
Companies should advertise the quality of their products, or in this case, how and when to take a medication and why it works. They should not be highlighting who is attracted to whom or who sleeps with whom. This is a marketing decision Tylenol will regret.
This gay-inclusive commercial is attempting to desensitize viewers. There is concern about the way this ad is pushing the LGBT agenda, but an even greater concern is the way that they are attempting to redefine "family."
TAKE ACTION
Please contact Tylenol (owned by Johnson & Johnson) through our website urging them to pull this inappropriate commercial immediately and remain neutral in the culture war.
Also, let Tylenol know that continuing to air this ad and other offensive advertisements in the future will force your family to make the decision to no longer purchase Tylenol or Johnson & Johnson products.

Putting Maps Anywhere I Want Them In My Bible! Thanks to Osmo

If you have been around for very long you know that I am VERY VISUAL!  As soon as I start to read about a location in the Bible I am off to find a map of the location.  I have to see it.  I wish that there was a picture right there inside the text... but, alas it isn't.  BUT!  I now have my answer!!!

I can draw it there with my Osmo!  Best yet, NO drawing skills necessary!

Now I can quickly draw a map (or anything else) anywhere I want it!
I will say that I have resisted drawing on top of the text before now but I knew that I was going to keep it "transparent" enough that I will still be able to read through the drawing.

If you missed yesterday's post I am using my OSMO, available for an iPad?

1- Did a Google search for "Bible Maps" and found the one I needed showing the territory divided among the 12 tribes of Judah.
2- I did a "print screen" to save the map onto my iPad

3- I open the "Masterpiece" app (free on iTunes store)
4- then load the above picture
5- put the reflector onto my iPad
6- resized the reflection to fit the place I wanted it in my Bible
7- and started "tracing" the lines that the software creates over the above picture...  (the reflection of the Bible is on the iPad screen, not vice versa).  AWESOME!!!

I used the same picture for both maps, just resized it to fit where I wanted to draw it.

I colored it with colored pencils.

This is SOOOO much better than a light box (even though I do have one that I LOVE) because you can resize the photo, it takes much more work and time to get the right size for the light box.

UPDATE:
I just posted this to a group on FaceBook where I got several questions.  In an attempt to answer those question I quickly did the following...

They wanted to know about the set up so I took a picture of how I do it in my lap!  I use my laptop as a desk and set the Osmo/iPad on the far end and my Bible closest to me. (sorry for the bad picture)

Traced the card on the left:

The whole process took about 5 minutes because I already had the heart picture that I did a few years ago.

OSMO ... My New Toy!

OK, for all you folks that don't think you can draw there is a new "gotta have" available now!!!

Have you seen the new OSMO available for an iPad?  I just got mine yesterday and started playing right away.

First I found a picture that I wanted to add to my Bible on Pinterest:

(had to delete the original photo for fear of breaking copy-rite laws ...and I'm not sure of the original artist is to ask permission... my copy is SO FAR for the original, and in my Bible, not for resale...so I think I'm safe there)

- I open the "Masterpiece" app (free on iTunes store)
- then load the above picture
- put the reflector onto my iPad
- resized the reflection to fit the place I wanted it in my Bible
- and started "tracing" the lines that the software creates over the above picture...  (the reflection of the Bible is on the iPad screen, not vice versa).  AWESOME!!!

OH! and another cool thing that is does is create this video!

and then I colored.

One Click Changes!

And today's playtime is with some new font styles I purchased this morning from John Forsythe.  Very, very cool!  If you have Photoshop you too can just click a button to change regular text or vector icons or shapes into some cool looks!

It can also be done to images!  From this:

To this:

... or any of about 1500 different choices.  This one is wood on marble.
