I EXPECT IT!

I came to that conclusion one day when I was wondering why folks get healed instantly at a Benny Hinn Meeting  and not in a regular church service.  If you have ever been to a meeting you know that it happens regardless of what he is doing or saying...he doesn't even touch anyone!  The healing has already taken place BEFORE they go up on stage, they are just up there to say what has already happened!

So, what was different?  And the thing I got was that people GO EXPECTING a miracle, at the Benny Hinn Meeting and maybe not so much at church.  Same God/ same faith in God, and we all know that it isn't Benny Hinn that heals, it is GOD, BUT  they're expectations are different.  Right?

Another thing is that you tend to voice out loud what you expect to happen...and we all know that YOU GET WHAT YOU SAY!

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. (Proverbs 18:21)

"Well, it's Spring, that means I'll catch a cold, I always do, every spring".... AND YOU DO, because you expect it and you said so!

Well, I have been in a frump lately and it is time to GET OVER IT!!!  You get what you expect so I am going to start EXPECTING something good to happen to me EVERY DAY!!!  I'm going to LIVE WITH EXPECTANCY .... and I'm going to document at least one something every day!

I realized yesterday that it had been exactly one year since my "Verse-A-Day" challenge began.... I didn't do so great since there are only 75 verses on the list...BUT, I did do some form of doodle and/or other something every day so I'm not gonna fuss at myself too much.

ANYWAY, I am starting the new challenge today of documenting something GOOD that happens every single day.  I'm not certain what that will look like we shall see, after I get my first few things to document.

Join me, EXPECT God to do something special for you today!

Using the Doodle Starter Frames

Last night I wanted to make something really quick by using one of the frames that I have for sell along with a font I made this week.    The idea of the frames is that they are just starters for more doodles.

Here is what I put together on the PC, then printed out:

Then I started playing....

I actually have them available in two different formats...

- 2 PDF files, 4 frames per file, just print and start doodling ($5.00)
- 8 .JPG files, if you have a software package it is a little easier to resize these files and add things like text. ($6.50)

I will email files ASAP. (no refund once they are sent)

Color Tools.... (aka: How I Use Pinterest)

First thing!  I am borrowing these gorgeous photos from Pinterest!  I bow to the photographer's expertise!  I have zero claim to them I just wanted to show you how I plan to use the great color combinations out there now.  Click HERE to see them on my "Color Combo" board and to get the original links to the different artist photographers.

I also know that the actual "Trust" designs are pretty bad...TOO BUSY!  But it was a quick way to show you what I wanted to....I wouldn't normally use them exactly like this but you get the idea ...

This is how I actually use them the other day:

You really can't improve on God's color combos, so why even try!  .... but, if you want to go HERE

Faith is What Makes the Promise "Solid"!!!

This is one of those times that I really wish I could draw!  I wish I could draw something that is clear...but this is the only way I knew to show the following... PRETEND that the "Your" part and the uncolored part of "Promise" are actually not there....the words are "appearing" as "Faith" pours out and forms "Your Promise".... The "substance" is the actual material that your Promise if made or "Faith"!  Just like God created Adam with dirt, our promise is made of faith.... that's why you have to have it!!!  Its the "solid" part of your promise!!!  Check out the definition of substance....

This is one that I colored by hand with a pink colored pencil, but I didn't love the color so I pulled it into PSE and messed with the hue and saturation levels.

Get It Done Quick!

I know, I know, you've seen the bird before.  I needed to make something really quick this morning because I got an email from VistaPrint offering several free items ... I wanted to take advantage of the offer in order to test their quality of print.  AND, right now Matthew 6:26 is my favorite verse ...   I put it on a small poster and a notebook.  I also used my bee on a pen,  an oval bumper and I had it made into a self inking stamp!  I got all of that for $8.99 (the cost of the stamp...50% off) + S/H ... I could have gotten more "free" stuff but they added shipping for each thing and I didn't want to pay the extra shipping.

I get these offers frequently so if you are interested just sign up for emails from them.  (I don't get anything to say that...its just the truth.)

Use the Tools!

Have you ever had a "WELL DER" moment?  I just had one!

I have spent the last two years stumbling my way through all this digital stuff, teaching myself one step at a time.  I could probably take a single class and learn everything I've learned the hard way!  It is AMAZING what software will do for you!

Today's DER!....

I have been "pinning" pictures with different color combinations I like for a while now.... Just because I like them, not thinking I could actually USE them!  (feeling so stupid!) Well today, I had another "wonder if???" I opened up one of those pictures in one window and used the eyedropper tool in CorelDraw to choose a color from the picture.  WELL  YEAH!  The beauty of CorelDraw is that you can hold your mouse over one of the colors in a pallet and it will give you 56 versions of that color!  So, that's what I did... I used the eyedropper to add a color from the photo to my CD pallet and made that one layer of each word, then I got a variation of that color to use as the shadow!  EASY! EASY!  MAN!

Doodle Frames

I finally decided to "open" an Etsy store.  All I have there so far are three of my fonts, but I want to add more things so I came up with some Doodle frames to sell.  I have them available below for less than they will be on Etsy because I will be adding the difference of costs.

Same frame, only different....

FEAR NOT!

If you have been around for a while you have probably figured out that one of my favorite fonts to use is like this one, big and chunky.  When I use it I just start drawing because I know what a letter looks like I just make it big and fat and overlap it over the next letter... it just comes naturally for me.  HOWEVER, what doesn't come naturally is spacing!  I rarely, if ever, end up with things all lined up the way I like them.... Funny, I like big/bold messy, but I want it lined up!

So, this morning I woke up around 3:30 AM and decided to create a TTFont like the one I hand draw all the time...and make it automatically overlap for me.... and that's what I used on today's doodle.  Thing is, I still did a lot of handwork because even though it overlaps, when you add an outline it shows up for all letters, even what should be "hidden" behind the previous letter....shoot.

Once I had it spaced I printed the above out without any outline, then hand outlined it...so, it still has that hand doodle feel to it because I made mistakes and didn't try to cover them up.  I also hand painted the red letters (causing the paper to buckle some).

OH!  The first time I printed it out I did it without the black shadow and realized real quick that it was dumb to sit there and add the shadow so I came back up here... duplicated the text, changed the copy to all black and positioned it to be behind and slightly offset, then all that was necessary was to add the outline to the overlapping portions of the letters.  DONE!

Of course, the scripture speaks for itself.... I might have to frame it!  Actually, maybe I'll make it into cards, folks can always use this kind of encouragement!  Hummmm.... since I'm trying to sell something on every post I think I'll do that....

And would you believe that I figured out how to outline the letters with the software so now it looks like this, with lots fewer "mistakes".  THIS is the image I will use for the cards... only 300 DPI instead of the low DPI shown here....

4.25"x5.5" card only $2.00 ea. (S/H incl. US only)

I AM SEALED!

I have been hanging out in Ephesians for the last week or so.  I know, its a really small book to stay so long in but it is just so full!

I did this page highlighting scripture that shows "who I am or what I have in Christ".

I mentioned a while back that I have lived my whole life expecting the rapture and knowing what the tribulation would be like.... you know, the whole 666 mark that will be placed on the hand or forehead of folks left behind.  Honestly, the whole idea of that has kept me walking saved!

Well, a few years ago I "saw" Ephesians 1:13 for the first time!  I am ALREADY SEALED!  "In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation - having also believed, YOU WERE SEALED in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise"!!!  And, in Revelations 7:3 it says "Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we have SEALED the bond-servants or our God ON THEIR FOREHEADS".... 7:4 "And I heard the number of those who WERE SEALED, 144,000 SEALED from every tribe of the sons of Israel"

I don't know about you but I'm really excited knowing there is a seal already on my forehead!  Even better, one of the definitions of "sealed" is incapable of being retracted or revoked; !!!

I talked about all this in a devotional I did at my last job and to help everyone remember it I gave each a mirror with "MINE" at the top so it looks like its on their forehead when they look in the mirror.... since I don't really know what the seal looks like "MINE" seemed right to me :-).  On the other side I put the Ephesians 1:13 scripture.

2.25" Mine Button Mirror - $3.00 (S/H incl. USA only)

HURRY! Only 3 days left!

OK, this has absolutely nothing to do with doodling but I had to share.  Blitsy has THE BEST GLUE, EVER...on sale for just $3.49!!!!  Best price I've ever seen. Click on the picture to find it on Blitsy.  Hint, you can NOT get it at Michael's or Hobby Lobby, or Joann's...its really kinda hard to find so I was THRILLED when I saw it available on Blitsy.  I just bought 7 bottles of it myself (used up all my credit) ... there are only 19 left!  HURRY, I promise you will LOVE this glue!  Just remember you just use a TINY TINY bit...when I teach classes people always use too much glue!

Why I love it.  I have been using this glue for years... You'll notice that I have offered glitter for sell in a past post, well this glue is by the same company that makes the glitter.  I have probably used 50 bottles of it over the years!  It drys clear but the best part is that it is probably the fastest drying glue on the market.  I also sell die cut boxes and I use this glue to put them together...with just a tiny dot... I hold them together for a second and it is glued!  Seriously, if you have ever tried to glue a box together you know how annoying it is to have to sit and hold it while it dries.

OH!  Important note!  They are actually selling three kinds, be sure and get this one:  That dries clear.... I don't love the "dries white" one, cause it does...ugh.  (The main reason they have it is that they have translucent glitter and the white gives the glitter a backing for gluing onto darker colors.)

Home Sweet Home

.

Nothing much to say, I just put a bunch of pieces together.  I started drawing little bees and other parts this weekend, these are a few... the little bee, the frame and the hive... and then of course my Dashes and Dots Doodle Font.

Unfortunately I used a PURPLE pen to draw the little bee!  DER!  I need to have more confidence that I might actually like what I draw!  Purple???  Really? Oh well.

I am building a collection of parts to use in a story if I come up with one.

Spirit Fruit...

I woke up this morning to an email from an online "Pin Friend" Beth, asking me if I had ever done something with the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22).... Nope ....  I have wanted to but I really wanted to do something less obvious than the usual pear, apple, orange fruit...  and that idea was never immediately obvious to me.

I decided to just start and see where it went, here ya go.... not a orange in site...

 Its different...Its a doodle!

I wanted to add more but the actual fruit is already kinda hard to read and I was afraid it would really get lost with more!

Thanks for the challenge Beth...

Today's Doodles

Today's doodles....

Just a quick sketch of a little girl ballerina I pinned today on Pinterest:

Tonight I was creating something else in PSE and liked the brush I was using so I did a quick background with it and then added the words... it might have taken 2-3 minutes. ??? Don't look for the brush, it wasn't that exciting after all, this is a cropped piece of the whole picture so most of the design of the brush was cut off.

Well, I might as well show you what I was working on.... Actually it was a test to see if I could make something work.  I wanted to created a background that I could use for a little story I'm writing about a group of bees.  I had the two girl bees already so I put them on a layer to see how it would look.... The goal is to use the background as a constant and just change what's going on in the foreground... Ever learning :-)

No, I didn't just play all day.... it was actually a day spent being passed around from person to person on the phone...ugh!  I'm telling you, my SUDDENLY IS JUST A MOMENT AWAY!!!!  I'm living in the "darkest before the dawn" place right now and I am READY TO MOVE ON!!!  ANY DAY NOW!!!

Color Pencil or Pen....

Here are are a few things I did today, just to see what I would come up with.  I really need to start practicing the WHOLE body!  I rely too much on a frame around a half body.

Grabbed a colored pencil and start drawing....see the brown? well I grabbed a brown pen first and it kept skipping so I tossed that idea and just grabbed the first color pencil I found.

The next one I refilled the skipping pen and just started drawing to see if I could draw a laughing lady:

I really want to do a laughing lady right, but that'll be another day.

Morning Will Come ... Help Is On the Way!

Yesterday I pinned this picture on pinterest based on Isaiah 41:13... For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, "Fear not; I will help thee."...I really loved the button on the bottom that said "Help is on the way."  LOVE LOVE THAT!!!  Wanted one... and then suddenly I realized I had all that I needed here to make a charm like it!  So, I went about making it happen.

Let me explain the rubber band.... A few years ago I worked for a man that made me mad every time I looked at him (almost) and I decided that I needed something to help me to remember to keep my big mouth closed and not say what I wanted to about, and to, him...So I wore a rubber band on my arm that I could use pop myself with to keep from saying what I wanted to.  I put a charm with this picture on it :

(Everybody in the office got one and wore them too!!! because we all had the same issues :-) ... and it really did work!... Though I will say that sometimes it was worth the pop to get it out and said!

So, this time, I am wearing a rubber band to pop myself with when I am tempted into doubt and unbelief... and I can read "Help is on the way".... because THAT is the truth!

Need one?
