Gotta Have It NOW, Flesh Pleasing

THEN
Genesis 25: 29 When Jacob had cooked stew, Esau came in from the field and he was famished; 30 and Esau said to Jacob, “Please let me have a swallow of that red stuff there, for I am famished.” Therefore his name was called Edom. 31 But Jacob said, “First sell me your birthright.” 32 Esau said, “Behold, I am about to die; so of what use then is the birthright to me?” 33 And Jacob said, “First swear to me”; so he swore to him, and
sold his birthright to Jacob.34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew; and he ate and drank, and rose and went on his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.

At first read, its easy to think how STUPID Esau was! Think what he gave up FOR A BOWL OF SOUP! Instead of Israel being in the "Line of Abraham, Issac and Jacob", it would have been "Abraham, Issac and Esau"!

So, how am I any different?

NOW:
Galatians 5:1  It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

One of my birthrights as a "re-born" child of the most high God is freedom!  But, every time I borrow through credit cards, or any other form of "gotta pay it back".... I make myself slave to the Lender!!! (Proverbs 22:7 The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender

Freedom lost.

Freedom to give when I want to, to go where the Lord leads without thinking first about what it cost, and that there's no more available credit, or money because it all went to the creditors!  Freedom lost....

I REALLY wish I would have had this revelation BEFORE I discovered credit!!!  There is no freedom with debt...I traded that "birth right" for a house full of junk!

But there's hope right???  I just need some of that mustard seed, mountain moving faith!    That, and adding a new word to my vocabulary.  "NO!!!"  Time for a whole new attitude!

Oh well, its all about growing, isn't it?

Note about what I did on the picture...
I had hand written the word "Difference" but I didn't like the outcome...sooooo, I found a hand drawn "like" font that I put on top of the picture, covering the word.  It looked like what it was, a canned font, so I then moved the letters around a bit, stretched bits of some of the letters (after converting the text to objects so I could move nodes around), making it not so "perfect". Then I added the little white bits on top of each letter to add the "shine". So, this is a hybrid.
