Philippians 1:21

Again, this is one that I needed more than just the one scripture.  I have heard this verse my whole life but it is kinda hard to understand without the words that go around them.
Paul has been arrested and it reads like he isn't sure if he will live or die while there.  He is saying here that he really would rather die, and be with the Lord, but if he had to stay he would continue to work 100% FOR the Lord.
I actually started crying when I read this because I spend a LOT of time praying for the Rapture, or to be taken, because I am READY to go...this place really isn't a lot of fun!  And I feel guilty for feeling that way.  This helps to push that guilt off.  And, as I'm typing I'm listening to Kenneth Copeland and he said the exact same thing!  He is ready, doesn't like being here, but he will continue to work for the Lord until its time to go home.  No more guilt!

Paul’s Chains Advance the Gospel

12 Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters,[b] that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. 13 As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. 14 And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear......   Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, 19 for I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance.  20 I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, 26 so that through my being with you again your boasting in Christ Jesus will abound on account of me.

Psalm 46:1

.

Psalm 46
For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. According to alamoth.   A song.
1 God is our refuge and strength,
   an ever-present help in trouble.

I decided to put the words over sheet music because it is a song....was then, is now.

Psalm 119:160

All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.

Gosh, another hard one!

Matthew 5: 14,16

I just wanted to show that your idea doesn't have to take a long time (for people that really don't have much time).  This literally took me 10 minutes!  and most of that was looking for the permission to use the picture!

1. I goggled "city lights" and found tons but I just LOVED this one!
2. Found Terms of Use permission... I got it from  Visible Earth (http://visibleearth.nasa.gov/) ... they allow use as long as you give them the credit
3. Opened it in Corel, copy/pasted the scripture, changed it to white text...
4. Saved
5 DONE!

There are several other ideas running in my mind... I have a couple of friends who spend every Saturday morning volunteering at a horse camp where they let children with various health problems ride...they are spotters... and take care of the horses... They are  definitely shining their lights.

I  have another friend that does transports about once a week.  Meaning she volunteers to transport  an animal scheduled to be "put down" the next day to someone willing to foster it or give it a full time home.

I explain it better HERE   Light shining.  I could have added the scripture to her picture.  Oh!  And she would give them all homes if she could afford it!  She already has 13(?) cats, 3 birds and a dog!...but every run I make with her she wishes she could keep the animal!

I hang with some good people.

Today's scripture was super simple!

100% Computer This Time

I have worked with CorelDraw since Version 1.0...YEARS and YEARS now.  But, I only know what I know from pushing buttons to see what they will do.  Once I learn what I need I stop there and work with what I know.  One thing I have always wanted to do but just never bother to figure out is fitting letters into a space.

Like this:

and obviously, today I figured it out!

- Copy/Pasted text from Biblegateway...just so I didn't have to type it.
- Changed font to "AL Boogie Woogie"
- Drew the shapes I wanted to fit the text into
- Used Control K to break all the words apart.  This is the new part I learned today.  If you have a paragraph of text you can hit Ctrl K to break the paragraph down into sentences. Ctrl K again breaks it down into words.  Ctrl K on a selected word breaks it into letters...
- THEN you can do whatever you want to with the letters...stretch/shrink/skew...but, if you want to move the nodes around you have to convert the letter into "curves" and you can move it to your hearts content.

Doing It the EASY WAY!

OK!  Feeling pretty darn dumb today!  I spent HOURS yesterday making that card look somewhat real, and layered.  Today, in about 15 minutes I figured out how to do it the RIGHT WAY!  OH MY GOODNESS!!!
The thing I'm learning, slowly but surely, is that if there is something you want to do, there is probably a button that does it.  I seem to be working on one or two buttons a day so I'm learning the VERY HARD WAY!
The main thing I learned today is how to add a "glow around the outside edge of any element...making it "3-D"  I did that manually yesterday, and I didn't do a very good job of it!
Another thing you may not be able to tell immediately is that you can turn object around so it looks like you are seeing it from a different angle... the bottom flower on each side was the result of duplicating the main flower and twisting it...and making it smaller.
Other new things are the stitches and brads.  I bought those babies from http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/:
  • DigiKit - Element-ary Stitches No. 1 - By Carina Gardner
  • DigiKit - Brads - By Vinnie Pearce (you get 200 brads for $2.00) beats the heck out of making them myself !!!  Actually, you can make even more than that by changing the hue... these were actually bright pink, I changed them to coral.

OH!  and one more thing I did to help it look 3D... The picture looks like I printed it and actually made a card from it... NOT!!!  I found a picture of a card and layered my faux card over the front and changed the perspective.  HA!  Gotta love that!

OK, I'm REALLY sick of this coral and brown now!  Time for something different!

Thank You for Loving Mom

The Spotted Chick (http://thespottedchick.blogspot.com/) now has a "That's Krafty Thursday" challenge...This week (the first) you just had to use Kraft paper somewhere on the card... any stamp.  That was great because it forced me to think about how the heck to use a "stamp" I just came up with.  I thought when I did it that it would make a good Mother's Day or Father's Day card... soooo
Kraft paper = Dad's day, in my mind ...

One of the things I use to do when I used real stamps was sponge the outside edges...now that I'm trying to do as much as possible BEFORE I print my digital stamps I digitally colored these then "sponged" the edges... I NEED PRACTICE!!  One has too much, then next doesn't have enough...gotta practice!

I decided to include this picture so you can see why I LOVE coloring on the PC!  I can print this page and be ready with 6 cards, with one page print!
You can also see in this photo that I saved a version with the "sponging" done in a circle in case I decide to cut it in a circle.

If you look closely at the little boy's shirt... and the dress and hat on the card below, you will see that I used background paper, that I scanned and have saved. If I had known I was going to use the plaid on the card I would have used that for the boy's shirt... Oh well...next time.

Actually.... I am adding this part a few days later... all I had to do the change the boys shirt was open the photo file and change the shirt!  EASY ENOUGH!  Matches better :-)

Every Good and Perfect Gift

Made this last night...

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (James 1:17)

Got the drawing, now no clue how to use it!
