Proverbs 29:25

25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare,
but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.

You'll notice that things are crowded...that's because I didn't know where I was going when I started.
- I got the cage first so I drew that.
- I then went out on the web to see how to draw fear, and the little guy evolved.
- I knew then that I wanted to put something in a bubble, so I drew that,
- then drew waves going over the bubble.  Once I started drawing the waves I wished I had drawn the cage on a slant like it was being tossed by the waves, so, rather than start over I erased the waves.
- I finally decided to put the guy in the bed, sleeping because there is peace in trusting the Lord
- When I decided that I needed to hang the cage from something (devils fork) I wanted to put God's hands holding the bubble.... and things got crowded....and it was too late to fix.

Inspiration..

Here ya go...yet another example of starting without a plan and being surprised with what I end with.
This is the simi-final product... I did it in color and don't like it so this is all I'm willing to show you.  I have decided that I like drawing ... and not so much the coloring.
I know it is kinda hard to read... It says "Let the Princess In You Rule" (I LOVE THAT!...not original)

It all started with this graphic that I got from the Graphics Fairy.  I just love it and I wanted to see if I could copy it....

My version:
Can I just say that that is one of the hardest things I've drawn so far!?!  I don't know why, it really should be simple! but I kept having to turn the paper around to try and get the jagged sides of the leaves to be jagged in the right direction!  WEIRD!!  Anyway, that one is going to have to take some practice!  I love the look of it so I'm willing to practice.

As I was drawing the above I thought how much it looks like the filigree on decorated cakes like this one:...Isn't it pretty?  I love everything about it except it is covered in fondant. UGH! UGH! UGH!  So now I'm in search of pretty cakes and pinning them in my "Doodles" folder...which I'm sure is confusing to most folks! :-)

So that led to this:

I started practicing with the top scroll and thought now what?
That led to the sides
and the princess was the natural progression since I didn't have any words to put in such a fancy frame!  BUT I really like it so I'm pretty certain you'll be seeing it again!

Zephaniah 3:17

.

Zephaniah 3:17

Amplified Bible (AMP)
17The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One, a Savior [Who saves]! He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest [in silent satisfaction] and in His love He will be silent and make no mention [of past sins, or even recall them]; He will exult over you with singing.

True Doodling

Now this is what I call TRUE DOODLING!  I sat at my computer, watching a movie on Netflix and looking at pictures on Pinterest and doodled.  All except that big mouth lady in the right corner!  I'm not certain what that was about!  I think I started with the big mouth and she just took on a life of her own.  I remember when I was growing up I would draw a funky shape on a piece of paper then try and make a face/head out of it... that is kinda what happened with the big mouth... I started with the mouth and went backwards.  And then I colored her because I just bought some flesh toned markers from Dick Blick and wanted to give those a try.

Then came this one... sitting on the sofa, just trying to come up with some borders.  That's what I do when I don't have anything else in mind to draw.

Then there is this one:

It is the whole chapter of Psalm 112.  Kenneth Copeland said to read it everyday for 60 days to get it deep in my spirit.... to build that faith up... "THIS is what a Blessed life looks like and how I should be living."

I font I used was Majestick.  It is one I had already and just stumbled on the other day while scrolling through my list of fonts.  It is kind of hard to tell but it is exactly like the font I try to draw when I do it by hand!  WHO KNEW!  And of course, I used my own new "Spot" font for the first drop letter.  Once I printed it out I decided to put the border just to add color....and the rest is history.

Monday I made this True Type Font:

But, like every font on the market, you can only change the color of the "BLACK" areas...anything white stays white.  You have to print and color by hand...not a bad thing, but I like to mass produce so I need QUICK!

Tuesday (last night, ALL NIGHT) I played around to see if I could do something that I wish I could do with every font...have more than one fill color + an outline color.  So, I started with this... now I can make the A a color, OR a colored fill pattern

Because all the letters in this font are UPPERCASE, I decided to use the lowercase to color the dots... so now if I type the 'A' in one color UPPERCASE and the lowercase 'a' in another color I get this! everything is automatically lined up, no adjusting necessary!

Then, because the frame is the same on every letter, I decided to use the { left bracket to fill the the background and got this...

And here I used a pattern filled/color background

More Play....

Now I can cut them apart and make note cards/tags,whatever,out of them...I can even make embroidery and vinyl patterns out of them!

I Started With the Frame

People always talk about being intimidated by a blank sheet of paper...me too.  Well, I finally came up with a solution to that problem FOR MYSELF!  I started with a frame...one that I drew that I liked.  I filled a page full of that frame, printed it out and started drawing...

First I did the alphabet:
and then just whatever....

And the cool part is, I've decided that I like drawing with a pen!  not a pencil!  WHO KNEW???  I don't know why but I feel like I draw better ???  WEIRD

One of the things I do on Pinterest is save pictures I think are cute and might want to draw... I don't try to make them exact, they just help with ideas... Here are a few examples:

Good Practice

I sit and watch Netflix here in my office and draw pictures I have found on Pinterest.... they aren't exact, but close enough....for me ...its just good exercise...at least its proof I don't trace!

Today I Played

2 Corinthians 9:10

Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.

whoops! wrong chapter on color version,  should be a 9   SORRY!
